FareShare Midlands is delighted to announce that Tesco, one of our long-standing food partners, has generously donated two of its former home delivery vans to support our work in the region. These vans will enable us to distribute more surplus food to charities and community groups that feed vulnerable people across the Midlands.

Mayor of the West Midlands Andy Street visited Fareshare Midlands to discover how it is building on its overall mission to fight hunger and tackle food waste, by creating opportunities through a range of programmes designed to give individuals the skills and qualifications they need to enter the workforce.

​Over 5 days, Sati Bahia trekked 100 kilometres through the desert to Petra, Jordan, in order to raise an incredible £2,000 for FareShare Midlands. This amazing fundraising feat will provide 8,000 meals for those in need.

As the festive season approaches, the team at Alutrade wanted to make a donation to bring Christmas cheer to members of the local community. On Wednesday, Emily Harris (Accounts and Logistics Manager for Alutrade) visited the FareShare Midlands Nechells depot to deliver over £1,500.

FareShare Midlands, the region’s largest food redistribution charity, is aiming to raise £50,000 to deliver an extra 200,000 meals to struggling families and individuals across the Midlands this Christmas. Once again, FareShare Midlands is participating in The Big Give Christmas Challenge from 28th November to 5th December. The Big Give is the UK’s largest match-funded campaign and, for seven days, every single donation is doubled.

The Coronation Food Project is a new initiative to redistribute more surplus food and use it for social and environmental good across all 4 nations of the UK. The project aims to create a fairer and more sustainable future by:
• targeting all forms of waste in the food supply chain;
• supercharging food redistribution throughout the UK; and
• supporting the wider food sector and pioneering food-rescue initiatives with flexible funding.
