FareShare Midlands, the region’s largest food redistribution charity, is aiming to raise £50,000 to deliver an extra 200,000 meals to struggling families and individuals across the Midlands this Christmas. Once again, FareShare Midlands is participating in The Big Give Christmas Challenge from 28th November to 5th December. The Big Give is the UK’s largest match-funded campaign and, for seven days, every single donation is doubled.

Ecological Care Solutions was founded by Sineke Ndhlovu and three friends, two of whom she met through working with food banks. Every month Sineke collects a supply from FareShare Midlands and then each of them takes a quarter of the food and shares it with people in need in different parts of Leicester.

The UK Islamic Mission (UKIM) started in 1962 and is an international charity working to deliver relief across the world. The organisation works on projects involving water, education, food, healthcare and disaster management. All its services are delivered by volunteers – the only paid employees are ones who are working in the charity’s mosques and schools.
