Fundraising FAQs

Got questions? Here are some of the most common ones we get asked about fundraising for FareShare Midlands:

Every pound you raise helps us rescue good-quality surplus food and redistribute it to charities and community groups supporting people in need across the Midlands. Your support enables us to collect, store and deliver food, operate our regional warehouses, fund training and employability programmes, and strengthen our network so we can reach even more vulnerable people.

Donations made through JustGiving come directly to FareShare Midlands. JustGiving deducts a small platform and processing fee, but the vast majority of your donation reaches us. Donors can also choose to cover these fees at checkout, meaning even more goes to supporting our work.

Gift Aid is a government scheme that allows charities to reclaim an extra 25% on donations from UK taxpayers - at no extra cost to the donor. To claim Gift Aid on your fundraising, make sure your supporters complete the Gift Aid declaration on your JustGiving page or sponsorship form. We handle the rest! Please note: Gift Aid can only be claimed on voluntary donations, not on ticket sales, raffle proceeds or payments received in return for goods or services.

Yes! You can absolutely continue fundraising. Many supporters receive donations after the event, so feel free to keep your JustGiving page open or continue collecting sponsor money. When you're ready, simply send the final total to us using the payment options below.
