Give Us Your Surplus Food

With global uncertainty, pressure on food supply chains and rising demand for support, many charities are facing increasing challenges.

We are already seeing early signs of pressure through rising fuel costs, changes in supply chains and reduced availability of key food categories. Even if conditions stabilise in the short term, the impact on food prices and availability is likely to be felt for several years.

For the communities we support across the Midlands, this matters now. Many households are already struggling to afford the basics. They have no capacity to absorb further increases in the cost of food and living.

At the same time, the community organisations supporting them are facing rising costs and tighter supply.

The Three Pressures

This is not a future issue - it is starting now and will continue to build over the coming months.

Rising Demand

More people across the Midlands need food support than ever before. Households have no financial buffer left to absorb further increases in the cost of living.

Reduced Supply

Surplus food is becoming less consistent. Key food categories are reducing. The supply our community food members rely on is less predictable than it was.

Increased Costs

Fuel and operational costs are rising for FareShare Midlands and the community organisations we support - costs they are absorbing just to keep collecting and delivering food.

There are ways you can help

Whether you volunteer your time, fundraise on our behalf, or simply stay informed - every bit of support helps us keep food moving across the Midlands.
