Become FareShare Midlands’ Chair of Trustees!
FareShare Midlands is looking for a committed and experienced leader to work with our established and diverse board and senior management to fight hunger and tackle waste.
The Chair of our Board of Trustees will help to support and guide the delivery of our vision of a Midlands region where no-one goes hungry where there is food being waste, no child goes to school on an empty stomach, and where vulnerable people are supported to join or region the workforce.
FareShare Midlands turns an environmental problem into a social solution, by taking good quality, surplus food that would otherwise go to waste and getting it to more than 550 charities and community groups across the Midlands, supporting 67,000 people every week.
Our trustees are passionate about working to end food poverty, using their skills and expertise to help FareShare Midlands meet the continuing challenges faced by society facing difficult circumstances. As Chair, you will lead our trustee board, strengthen its work and help shape our future strategy and purpose.
“I was attracted to FareShare Midlands as I’m passionate about reducing food waste and poverty, and wanted to dedicate my spare time to something meaningful. I wanted to volunteer for many years, but the shifts didn’t fit around my work commitments - so when I saw they were recruiting new trustees, it was a perfect fit.
Volunteering with FareShare Midlands is special. It’s amazing to be around like-minded people, working together to achieve common goals that have such significant social and environmental benefits. It is really stimulating, rewarding and enjoyable.”
Martha Skinner, FareShare Midlands Trustee
