The summer break should be a time of fun and excitement for children but this year the Coronavirus Crisis has meant many more families are facing financial hardship. FareShare Midlands has seen demand for food skyrocket, particularly among frontline organisations providing food to children and their families.
With the coronavirus pandemic pushing thousands of people into financial hardship, many more families are struggling to put food on the table this year.
Your support will help deliver food to children through organisations reaching children and their families across the midlands. This will include schools like Portland Spencer Academy in Nottingham who have found FareShare support vital during the summer months:
“The food parcels were very important over the summer, not only did the families receive the food but we were still able to engage and physically see our families when we delivered the food to the family homes. This connection during school closure is vital.
We were able to put hampers together that would make a complete meal ie: pasta with Bolognese, chicken with roast vegetables.
A Huge THANK YOU to the drivers, always polite and so very helpful.
We would like to express our thanks and gratitude on behalf of our families and us to you all at FareShare. THANK YOU!”
We urgently need your help to deliver more healthy, nutritious food to the food banks, community groups, activity schemes and schools supporting the most vulnerable children during this crisis.
