Schools Outreach Programme

We’re passionate about involving local schools in our mission to tackle food poverty and food waste across the Midlands.

Our Schools Outreach Programme is a fantastic way to raise awareness among young people, while inspiring the next generation of changemakers to get involved in supporting their local community.

Engaging, Age-Appropriate School Assemblies

We understand that food insecurity and waste can be sensitive topics, which is why we’ve designed our assemblies to be age-appropriate, interactive, and thought-provoking.

Whether pupils know someone affected by food poverty or are simply eager to make a difference, we believe it’s important they understand the role food plays in wellbeing, equality, and sustainability.

How Students Can Get Involved

There are so many creative and rewarding ways students and staff can support FareShare Midlands:

• Food drives and fundraisers (bake sales, fun runs, non-uniform days)
• Creative arts projects, like food-themed murals or performances
• Choirs or music groups performing at community events
• Volunteering or work experience (where age-appropriate and supported)
