Thank you to all those supporting our Big Give Christmas Challenge Appeal which raised £15,000 - enough to distribute 60,000 meals to families in need!

While we have reached that target, we still need your help to deliver our much-needed winter operation to feed the local communities. Any further donations will enable us to reach even more families this winter, and every £1 donated will enable us to distribute 4 meals. Thank you.

More than 3.9 million children live in poverty in the UK.
FareShare Midlands is raising funds to distribute meals to vulnerable families living in food poverty this winter.
Just £1 will provide 4 meals.

Help Families Facing Hunger This Winter!

You’re doing something amazing. No one should have to go hungry. Your support is the reason we can keep feeding people. We need your donations to redistribute good food that would otherwise go to waste to UK charities and community groups.

For many of us this Christmas is going to be an especially wonderful time of year to celebrate and reconnect with our extended family. After the disappointment of last year’s ‘cancelled Christmas’, many of us are looking forward to spending quality time with family and friends.

In general, this time of year brings to mind beautifully-wrapped presents under a huge Christmas trees, festive decorations, Christmas carols and the all-important indulgent Christmas lunch with “all the trimmings”.

But for some people, life will not reflect this bounteous image. For vulnerable people in the Midlands, this year has once again been challenging. The West Midlands is one of the UK regions hit hardest by COVID19 and the resulting economic crisis. Some of our local economies are among the most vulnerable in the UK and in the Midlands there are 1.1m children living in poverty.

Families have been hit by job losses, unemployment and illness. For them, life does not get much better at Christmas. Some people find this time of year just highlights what they are deprived of, whether it is good health, work, money, food or all four. These individuals and families will not be splashing out in December, and may not even be able to afford the basic necessities.

The Community Food Members we work with support people suffering from hunger and poverty all year round, and they want to be able to help everyone have a Happy Christmas and a full tummy.

If you would like to help, and are thinking of donating this Christmas, please donate now.
