The people who oversee our work

Our Board of Trustees

The strategic activities of FareShare East Midlands are overseen by a Board of Trustees. Chaired by Andrew Wilson, this Board meets on a quarterly basis and reviews the output of the organisation, as well as setting our vision and direction for the years ahead. Our Trustees come from a diverse range of professional and business-based backgrounds. They are all committed volunteers who bring to the table an immense range of experience and skills, which are helping us cope with an unprecedented growth in demand for our services.

Andrew Wilson

Nottingham-based Andrew is a vet by profession – and an experienced charity chairperson. After retiring from the veterinary world several years ago, Andrew took over the reins at AVID, a leading UK charity that actively campaigns for the rights of refugees. And after joining the Board of Trustees of FareShare East Midlands, he became Chair in November 2017.

Paul Cook

Vice Chair

Paul's association with FareShare East Midlands started in 2018, when became a volunteer at our Holmewood regional centre. As well as being an accomplished driver, it quickly became apparent – as a recently retired GP – that he had a lot more to offer us. So shortly after he started his driving duties, Paul agreed to become a Trustee and our Vice Chair.

Deborah Burke

Deborah is a lawyer who, alongside her husband, has been jointly running a business for more than 18 years. She became an FareShare East Midlands Trustee in December 2015. Deborah and her family identify strongly with our dual aims of fighting hunger and tackling food waste.

Jimmy Mark

After becoming involved with Fareshare Leicester in 2009, Jimmy became a Trustee three years later. During his career, his work has been focused on the manufacture of chilled prepared food and has worked in various roles and businesses across the East Midlands for more than 30 years.

John Orridge

John is a Chartered Accountant and joined the Board of Trustees in 2013. He is the Director of Finance for the Church of England’s Leicester diocese and has been a committed supporter of Fareshare East Midlands since its inception, regularly offering financial management and technical expertise to the Board.

Carri Swann

Solicitor, Carri Swann, works as an advice caseworker at the St Ann's Advice Centre in Nottingham, located in one of the city’s most deprived areas. She is also a Board member of Nottingham Community Housing Association, an organisation that serves the needs of more than 20,000 tenants in the region. She became a Trustee in 2017.

Peter Yates

As Development Adviser, World Development Officer and Director of Social Responsibility for the Church of England’s Diocese of Leicester, Peter has been involved in FareShare East Midlands since our humble beginnings – as a fledgling food redistribution project. Since then, Peter has been a Director and Trustee.
