Aldi, the UK's fastest growing supermarket, is to provide a daily breakfast to more than 1,000 children in Derbyshire as part of its long-standing partnership with FareShare East Midlands.

The supermarket is donating 1,000 boxes of cereal to the food redistribution charity, which will help it to provide 40 schools in the region with healthy breakfasts over the next two months.
The campaign is part of the wider efforts of FareShare East Midlands to tackle hunger among school children by ensuring food is redistributed to those most in need.
Simone Connolly, Director of FareShare East Midlands said: “It seems such a simple thing, but eating breakfast can have a huge impact on a child’s ability to learn.
“Aldi’s generous donations will make sure that pupils in [insert area] start the day right, and are ready to learn to their full capacity.”
Fritz Walleczek, Managing Director of Corporate Responsibility, at Aldi said: “FareShare does tremendous work across the East Midlands and we didn’t hesitate to assist by providing these additional donations.
“Breakfast is such an important part of the day, especially for children. We hope that our donations will help to ensure no one starts the school day with a rumbling stomach.”
Aldi has worked with FareShare since 2012 and has donated the equivalent of over 2.6 million meals to people across the UK since the partnership began.
