90% of charities have seen an increase in demand since the cost of living crisis began

A recent survey by FareShare showed that 90% of the charities and community groups they support have seen an increase in demand since the cost of living crisis has taken hold.
7 in 10 charities have seen people accessing support for the first time, and 78% of them are worried that this will have a bigger impact than COVID19. Furthermore, in Lincolnshire at least 50,000 people live in areas recognised as being in the 10% most deprived areas in the country.

In the light of this crisis, and food poverty continuing to rise across Lincolnshire, FareShare Midlands, Lincolnshire Coop and the Greater Lincolnshire Food Partnership invite you to our first Help Tackle Poverty In Lincolnshire event:
Friday 3 February 2023 from 11.00 am - 2.30 pm

This unique event is an opportunity to find out more about the chronic need in Lincolnshire, and how the voluntary sector and local businesses are responding to this need. To offer a glimpse into the effects of both, we will be hosting the event at FareShare Midlands in Lincoln, and visiting two charities who support vulnerable locals.

The day also presents a valuable opportunity to network with public sector, third sector and local businesses, and reflect on opportunities to collaborate, take action and make a difference in our region at a time when levels of need are unprecedented.

Further details to follow nearer the time.

FareShare Midlands, Unit 6, Vulcan Park, George Street, Great Northern Terrace, Lincoln, LN5 8LG

The day will include a tour of FareShare Midlands, visits to community food organisations working in local communities, lunch and networking opportunities

Please RSVP to communications@faresharemidlands.org.uk by Thursday 26th January 2023 to let us know whether you are able to attend.
